SAP Boosts SAP Solution Manager with BMC AppSight for SAP Client Diagnostics

SAPPHIRE ’07 ATLANTA, April 23, 2007 - BMC Software [NYSE: BMC] today announced that BMC AppSight for SAP Client Diagnostics will be globally deployed by SAP AG as part of the Solution Support Enablement Package — an extension to SAP Solution Manager. This newly designed package aims to support SAP customers whose businesses require a premium support organization to implement leading edge multi-technology support. BMC AppSight for SAP Client Diagnostics provides advanced diagnostics and root cause determination for SAP front-end applications.

End-to-End Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager allows customers, partners and SAP to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently before they affect business continuity. BMC AppSight for SAP Client Diagnostics extends SAP End-to-End Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager by providing advanced diagnostics for SAP front-ends.

With the Solution Support Enablement Package, customers can benefit from an integrated approach that facilitates smooth operations processes and improves transparency for better IT decision making through pre-configuration. This package relieves customers of the need for costly evaluations of multiple support tools and helps reduce time implementing these tools through pre-configuration and integration.

BMC AppSight for SAP Client Diagnostics is based on one functional module from within the BMC AppSight Application Problem Resolution System. BMC AppSight fits into the existing processes of application development organizations to dramatically reduce the time spent in the manual, iterative process of finding and fixing application problems. The full BMC AppSight solution works on J2EE and Windows/.NET architectures at all tiers and for all participants in the problem resolution process.
